Interview merupakan momen yang krusial ketika seseorang mendaftar suatu pekerjaan, sebuah interview yang baik memiliki nilai yang signifikan yang akan dipertimbangkan oleh perusahaan, sebuah interview memberikan kesempatan yang baik dan merupakan kesempatan emas agar anda lebih dipertimbangkan oleh perusahaan.

Berikut adalah beberapa tips menghadapi job interview, khususnya pada perusahan asing, walaupun informasi berikut ini juga tetap harus diperhatikan ketika anda mengirim surat lamaran kerja kepada perusahaan lokal.

Langkah  pertama adalah persiapan sebelum wawancara

  • Pelajari lebih lanjut tentang perusahaan.
  • Kuasai suatu bidang pekerjaan, memang ini bukan tips untuk berwawancara, tapi setidaknya anda telah memepersiapkan sesuatu sebagai modal dalam berwawancara
  • Pastikan jenis pekerjaan yang ditawarkan sesuai dengan kriteria pekerjaan anda
  • Siapkan diri untuk menerangkan segala hal tentang anda dan pengalaman anda berkaitan dengan pekerjaan yang diintingkan
  • Bersiaplah untuk menjawab pertanyaan-pertanyaan yang bersifat luas dan menjebak, semisal "Mengapa saya harus mempekerjakan Anda" "? Mengapa Anda menginginkan pekerjaan ini?" "Apa kekuatan dan kelemahan Anda?"
  • Berlatihlah melakukan wawancara dengan teman anda
Penampilan

  • Rapih
  • Menggunakan pakaian yang sopan dan sesuai dan tidak berlebihan
  • Berlakulah sopan dan percaya diri yang tidak berlebihan
Proses Interview
  • Datanglah lebih awal dan jangan terlambat
  • Jika dimungkinkan, cari tahu nama pewawancara, sebut nama pewawancara ketika berjabat tangan semisal "Apa kabar pak Andi?"
  • Berlakulah sopan dengan setiap orang yang anda temui baik di tempat wawancara maupun di sekitarnya
  • Rileks saat menjawab pertanyaan-pertanyaan singkat
  • Gunakan bahasa yang baku, untuk bahasa Inggris, gunakan grammar yang baik, hindari "Slang"
  • Berusahaalah untuk bersikap kooperatif dan jujur serta tunjukan rasa antusiasme
  • Gunakan bahasa tubuh yang baik, semisal pandangan mata, sikap tangan, maupun anggota tubuh yang lain.
  • Ajukan pertanyaan tentang posisi dan organisasi, tetapi menghindari pertanyaan yang jawabannya dapat dengan mudah ditemukan di situs Web perusahaan maupun informasi-informasi perusahaan yang gampang didapat.
  • Hindari pertanyaan mengenai gaji dan fee, terkecuali memang gaji/fee tersebut sudah ditawarkan, untuk menjawab pertanyaan mengenai gaji, anda bisa mempelajari standar gaji Indonesia.
  • Ucapkan terima kasih ketika berjabat tangan setelah wawancara
Hal-hal lain yang perlu diperhatikan:
  • KTP
  • SIM
  • Resume/catatan kecil mengenai informasi tentang anda / curriculum vitae
  • Referensi, biasanya adalah nama-nama orang yang berpengaruh yang mengenal anda, hal ini penting karena pewawancara dapat pula menghungi orang tersebut untuk menanyakan tentang anda
  • Transkrip nilai dan berkas-berkas lain semisal ijazah dan informasi-informasi lain yang dapat menerangkan kualitas anda.

Kali ini postingan yang akan aku tuliskan bukan mengenai Lowongan Keja Juli 2010, tapi bagaimana persiapan wawancara khususnya menjawab pertanyaan mengenai berapa jumlah gaji yang diinginkan. Tiba-tiba aku kangen dengan blog ini, sempat terlupakan, karena sibuk berkuliah, mengajar, menjadi suami, pacar, ayah, dan kakak. Beberapa blog-ku berkembang pesat, beberapa blog lain malah sebaliknya, tapi secara keseluruhan memberi banyak keuntungan. Akupun mulai terlena untuk memprioritaskan segala sesuatu yang profit, hingga men-cuek-an beberapa blog-ku yang lain.
Walau akhirnya sekarang aku tahu, tidak semuanya harus "money based", hal-hal kecil yang berkaitan dengan hati dan ibadah, Hablum minannaas, dan Hablum minallaah, sudah mulai tidak aku prioritaskan lagi, bersyukur sejenak tersadar.

Jarang sekali temen-temen blogger yang dengan setia mengurus blog mereka, apalagi kalo blog tersebut bukan blog profitable, liat aja blog ini, terakhir aku posting akhir tahun 2009, seharusnya ketika blogger merasa lebih nyaman, mereka lebih punya banyak waktu untuk berbagi, tapi mungkin karena basic mereka bukan penulis (aku juga), perasaan males untuk posting sesuatu yang non profit walau terkadang diprofitkan malah tambah parah.
